DATA PROTECTION DECLARATION
mashlab UG (limited liability) (hereafter “mashlab”), residing at LMU Entrepreneurship Center, Geschwister-Scholl-Platz 1, 80539 Munich, Germany takes the protection of its customers’ personal data very seriously and adheres strictly to the regulations of the relevant data protection laws.  Personal data is only requested in the extent technically necessary for the website.  The stored data is in no case sold or conveyed to third parties for other commercial reasons. The following declaration provides the Customer with an overview of the methods adopted to guarantee this protection and of which data is stored for which purpose.

Compilation, Processing and Utilization of Personal Data

The Customer can visit mashlab’s website without providing personal data.  mashlab stores only access data without personal reference such as the name of the Customer’s internet service provider or the page from which contact to mashlab was launched.  This anonymous data is evaluated solely to improve mashlab’s services and allows no personal inference.

Personal data such as name, user name and additional metadata such as creative field of activities etc., address, telephone number, e-mail address and bank details (inventory data) are stored when and in the extent necessary for the constitution and processing of a business transaction as well as for the implementation or alteration of the contents of such contracts.  This data is generally requested in electronic order forms. 

The Customer’s personal data is also stored when voluntarily provide upon registering for mashlab’s newsletter. This newsletter can also be ordered at support@mashlab.com. 

After termination of the contract and complete payment of the accrued fees the Customer’s personal data is barred from further utilization and deleted after termination of the period determined in tax and commercial laws unless the Customer has explicitly agreed to the further utilization of its personal data. Upon registering for mashlab’s newsletter the Customer’s e-mail address is utilized for mashlab’s advertising purposes subject to the Customer’s approval until the Customer deregisters from the newsletter. 

mashlab informs the Customer that certain personal data, generally name and address, must be provided to the relevant national and international registration authorities when registering a domain, and that this data must be published in the publically accessible Whois data bases.  For example, when registering a DE domain the names and addresses of the domain holder, the administrative and technical contacts and the zone administrator as well as the telephone number, the telefax number and the e-mail address of the technical contact and the zone administrator are forwarded to DENIC e.G., Frankfurt/Main, Germany and published in DENIC’s database under http://www.denic.de. 

Forwarding Personal Data

The Customer’s bank details must be forwarded to the bank used for payments to mashlab in order to obtain payments.  The data is not forwarded to any other party. 

Information about Usage

In order to provide and improve mashlab’s services certain data regarding the logged-in users activities are stored.  This data consists of, among others, the storage space used and the number of log-ins as well as browser, date and time of access, cookie ID, referrer URL and the functions used at mashlab.  This data is used to create anonymous user profiles that are evaluated solely to improve mashlab’s services; no personal inference is possible. 

The Customer can contact mashlab by e-mail at any time with inquiries.  mashlab may store the contents of such inquiries to ensure a quick response and to improve its services. 

mashlab reserves the right to create links and to survey the usage of such links.  This procedure provides the basis for mashlab’s quality assurance and performance improvement. 

In isolated cases mashlab implements so-called quality assurance feedbacks to improve its website; this feedback captures the Customer’s usage in certain situations.  In such a case the Customer is requested to provide its explicit approval before the quality assurance feedback record is returned to mashlab. 

Implementation of Google Analytics

mashlab uses Google Analytics, an analysis service provided by Google Inc., to implement the evaluation of the website usage.  Any data created by Google Analytics relevant to the Customer’s usage of mashlab’s website (including the Customer’s IP address) are transmitted to a Google Inc. owned server in the USA and stored there.  Google shall use this data solely to analyze the website usage by creating depersonalized evaluations and charts reflecting the number of hits, number of pages accessed per dealer, etc. mashlab uses this information solely to optimize and customize its website structure.  More information about the technology used by Google can be found at www.google.com/analytics. 

Cookie Usage

mashlab employs cookies on various pages to make its website usage more attractive and to enable the usage of certain functions.  Such cookies are short text files that are deposited on the Customer’s computer.  Most of the cookies employed by mashlab are deleted from the Customer’s computer when the browser session is terminated (so-called session cookies).  Other cookies remain on the Customer’s computer, enabling mashlab to recognize the Customer’s computer at the next access (so-called persistent cookies).  The Customer can adjust its computer settings to disable or identify cookies.  mashlab informs the Customer that mashlab’s site may not function efficiently under such settings. 


Log Information

mashlab stores information that your browser transmits during a session, such as request, browser type and language as well as the request date and time. 

Websites created by Customers

mashlab Customers who create websites are solely responsible for adhering to data protection regulation.

mashlab Websites and Profiles

Every internet user can access the information posted by a mashlab Customer on its mashlab website.  mashlab therefore informs its Customers that they must treat their personal data responsibly.  mashlab stores the user sites along with their contents in order to provide its services. 

mashlab catalogues the contents of mashlab websites to enable searches on mashlab.com and on other websites.  This catalogue may also be employed to analyze page contents with the intent of improving mashlab’s services. 

mashlab stores the following Customer personal data: Personal picture, field of activities, location and user name.  This information is visible to other users on the mashlab portal.  This enables the search for other mashlab websites of interest for other users; the communication between the users is enhanced. 

Data Security

The Customer’s personal data is encrypted and transferred via SSI.  mashlab’s website and other systems are protected by technical and organizational measures against loss, destruction, access, alteration or unauthorized transfer by third parties.  The Customer can only access its account after entering a personal password.  The Customer should always treat its access data confidentially, and should log out and close the browser window after ending its communication with mashlab, especially when using a shared computer. 

Right of Inquiry and Response

mashlab values its Customers’ confidence.  Therefore, mashlab is permanently at its Customers’ disposal regarding inquiries and responses relevant to their personal data and its processing.  Under the Federal Data Protection Act the Customer is entitled to information free of charge regarding its stored data and has the right to have it corrected, barred or deleted.  Any questions not covered by these Data Protection Regulations and any requests for in-depth responses can be sent to support@mashlab.com at any time.
