GETTING STARTED
WHICH REQUIREMENTS ARE NEEDED FOR USING MASHLAB?
mashlab is completely browser-based, so you don't have to download any additional software. All you need is broadband internet access, an updated version of the Adobe flash player and Firefox 3 to use the mashlab editor. Other browsers will be supported soon, we're working hard on this one!). Make sure javascript and cookies are enabled - read more.

WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO START?
Ideally you've already got a roughly outlined website structure in mind before you start toying with the editor; e.g. whether your site should feature a welcome page as intermediary or not, or how many pages you think your website should consist of. Sometimes less is more!
Navigation features and style definitions are best set by creating MasterPages, which then can be chosen as background of your LivePages via the PagesPanel. If you later wish to change the design of a MasterPage, those changes will automatically apply to the corresponding LivePages.

ANYTHING SPECIAL TO PAY ATTENTION TO?
Please don't upload tremendously large pictures, it might not work ... At best you prepare or scale your files with Photoshop, Preview, Paint or similar before trying to upload them. If you're lacking a corresponding tool, it can be done online too: http://resizeimagesonline.com

The easiest way to insert pictures and audiofiles is to simply drag them onto your page from the MediaPanel!

SHORTCUTS?
Shift:            Choose multiple items (e.g. to move them)
Ctrl-c/Ctrl-v:         Copy/Paste - new items will be appear right above the original, so you first see them when you move them. Copy/Paste works across the pages as well!
Backspace:        Delete selected items (same as the trash-icon in toolbar)
Arrow:            Move one or more items (1px)
Arrow+Ctrl:        Move one or more items (5px)
Ctrl-a:            Select all (single items can be deselected by shift+click)
Ctrl-s:            Save Page/ MasterPage (same as the disc-icon in toolbar)
Ctrl-z:            Undo

IS THIS PAGE BUILT WITH MASLAB TOO?
For sure! ;-)
Apart from a few exceptions, e.g. registration, our entire website was created with mashlab.
